An integral Westside affair since 1981, The Yarraville Festival is one of the most look- forward-to events in the Yarraville community. Local artists, restaurants and community groups come together and showcase their many talents. Visiting artists, market stall holders and food vendors present the best wares that Melbourne has to offer. This institutional festival embraces the cultural diversity, industrious nature and artistic air of the West, attracting over 25,000 people from all over Melbourne to join and experience the vibrant atmosphere.
Each year we strive to create a Festival to put everyone’s best foot forward. This year we have five very unique stages of entertainment; ‘School of Rock’ giving the under 18’s an opportunity share their learned skills to the public, ‘Phoenix Youth Stage’ presenting a diverse mix of music and artists representing the outstanding talent in the west, the ‘Community Stage’ showcasing dance moves to dog shows, choirs to karate. And lastly, the ‘Ballarat Street Stage’ and ‘Main Stage’, hosting over 15 acts from all round the West, bringing the public a solid day of assorted tunes.
Our little Village has also been growing these last few years, so with the extension of our Festival footprint, we can welcome even more of our neighbourhood traders to exhibit their wares, supporting local artists, designers and workers.
So put Yarraville Festival in your diaries, on Sunday February 18th! A great day brought to the community by the community!
